Authority Declaration: What You Need to Know
authoritybusinesslegal
The authority declaration is a required step when creating a Business Account with a domain.
What is an Authority Declaration?
An authority declaration is your confirmation that you have the legal authority to:
- Set up a business account on Refer2u
- Act on behalf of the company
- Invite team members and manage access
Why is it Required?
Similar to authorising access to Microsoft 365 or other business services, the authority declaration:
- Protects companies from unauthorised account creation
- Ensures only authorised personnel can set up business accounts
- Helps prevent duplicate accounts
- Provides a basis for dispute resolution
Who Can Make the Declaration?
You should only make an authority declaration if you are:
- A company owner or co-founder
- An authorised employee (e.g., IT administrator, operations manager)
- Someone with explicit permission from company leadership
What Happens After Declaration?
- Your account is created
- Authority may be verified by Refer2u administrators
- You become the account owner
- You can invite team members
Important Notes
- Making a false authority declaration may result in account suspension
- If you're unsure about your authority, check with company leadership
- Disputes can be raised if someone believes an account was created without proper authority
